Local artists are invited to capture Yorba Linda's historic areas, points of interest, and unique features on canvas or film. Event is open to all ages. 'Plein air' is a term derived from the French phrase en plein air, which literally means 'in the open air'. Artists and photographers are encouraged to find locations in Yorba Linda to use as their subjects (a list of suggestions & locations are provided below). Registration fee: Adult artists: $10.00/ limit of 2 entries Photographers: $10.00/ limit of 2 entries Students: $5.00 entry fee/limit of 2 entries Requirements: art must be produced within the specified time period. At least 1/2 of production time must be at outside location.All submissions are to be mounted (matted or framed). Art will be displayed at the 9th annual Celebration of the Arts on Sunday June 1. In addition, selected art will be displayed for public viewing (location TBA) Awards: People's Choice awards (the public will vote on their favorite in each category: watercolor, oils, photography, and youth). Awards based on a minimum number of entries. |

Completed art must be registered by Saturday May 25, by email (ylartsalliance@aol.com), or phone 714-996-1960. Please provide us with the following information: 1. Number of pieces you are entering/ titles 2. Type of medium (watercolor, oil, photo, etc.) 3. Participant category (adult or student) 4. Size of each piece 5. Type of mounting (if framed, do you have a wire to hang) 6. If you are selling the piece, asking price (or NFS) 7. Do you have an easel or display to provide (floor or tabletop) Your work will be exhibited at the Lasorda Field House (4701 Casa Loma, at Imperial Highway) during our annual Celebration of the Arts on Sunday June 1, where the public will be voting on their favorites. Please bring your art that morning some time between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. to the check in table. Please pick up your art at the end of the day between 4:00 & 5:00 p.m. We will be notifying the winners in the following week, and instructing them when to deliver their work for exhibition. There will be a 10% commission fee for any pieces that we sell on your behalf, so please price accordingly. Please don’t hesitate to call or email if you have any questions!

Instructions for June 1, 2008 / art check
in Drop off your art between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. in the Lasorda Fieldhouse There will be a check in table in the gym. Temporary parking in the Lasorda Parking lot in front of the Field House is available while you‘re checking in . All cars must be moved out by 10:00 a.m. Additional parking at the community center to the north. Voting – the public will vote for their favorite painting and photo throughout the day. Please pick up your art at the end of the day between 4:00 & 5:00 p.m. following the event.
